I first grew dahlias from seed in 2020, and though the early blooms were mostly neon yellow and red open-centered flowers, I was instantly hooked! There’s something thrilling about not knowing what each seed will produce.

I still grow primarily for my own enjoyment. When evaluating seedlings, I focus on blooms I find beautiful or interesting. While I respect ADS standards, many non-standard blooms make excellent garden or cut flowers. My varieties aren’t aimed at winning ribbons, but they are a wonderful addition to my garden, with beautiful flowers, strong stems, and solid bloom attachment.
